Considering the pace of modern life, stress and the devastating effects of pollution, never has our food been so poor in its nutritional value as it is today. In fact, "depleated" , "over-worked", cultivation along with refining, has deprived foods from part of their precious nutrients (minerals, vitamins.).
However, a regular intake of spirulina becomes of major importance because of its very high protein content. It has a rich source of betacarotene (vitamin A), vitamin B12, iron, gammalinoleic acid (vitamin F), vitamin E, calcium, magnesium, etc.
Due to its precious composition, spirulina has been nick-named by the experts as "The food of the future".
Spirulina contains only 7% of lipids of which half are made of essential fatty-acids. Having less fat (lipid) than any other source of protein it, therefore, has less cholesterol.
